Olympics

I loved watching the Olympics. Gymnastics is always my favorite, and this year we got really into swimming (who didn't?). I laughed out loud watching the trampoline event (really?) and I heard recently there was a speed walking event and I am sooo sad I missed that one! My favorite thing to do at night was watch the Olympics and read "Breaking Dawn", although I wished it wasn't on so late. The whole "live" icon on the tv was very deceptive. So goodbye Shawn Johnson, Nastia Liukin, and Michael Phelps with your goofy grin, and hello warm bed before 1:00 am.

Culture, my foot

We tried to take the kids to the De Young Museum for free day in August. I wanted Audrey to experience some culture, and this is what Audrey and Max thought about it...

I thought she would have loved "Cinderella's carriage", but obviously not.

We lasted about 30 minutes inside and then went outside so the kids could run around and ride the horse.

Audrey liked "Belle's roses" (from Beauty and the Beast) the best, and from the look on her face you can tell she didn't even like that very much. So much for the culture lesson.

Blessed

Joshua David was blessed in San Francisco on August 3rd, one day after our seven year anniversary. Dave and I went on the boat around the bay the night before and tried to finalize Joshua's middle name, but we didn't decide officially until we were about four blocks away from the church. No one knew what Joshua's middle name was until Dave said it during the blessing. Dave did a great job with the blessing and it was so nice to have all our family there.
Joshua, you are truly blessed.

Joshua in his 5 piece suit. Dave found this online and bought it for him.

Audrey Jeanette was blessed in San Francisco on November 27, 2005. She wore the dress that my Grandma Jeanette made (Audrey is named after her) and all five girls in my family wore the same dress when we were blessed.

5 months

Joshua turned 5 months on August 9th. He is such a happy baby and we love him so much. At five months Joshua:
* no longer sucks his thumb
* still loves dinosaurs
* loves playing peek a boo with anyone, but especially Audrey
* still doesn't like it when his mom eats dairy or chocolate
* loves to suck on his toes
* favorite song is still, "The Wheels on the Bus"
* laughs like crazy

Celebrate

We had two parties to celebrate Audrey turning three. We blessed Joshua on August 3rd, (pictures to come) and had a family party after the blessing to celebrate Audrey turning three and the baby blessing. We turned our house into a castle for our little princess and she loved it. Her vocabulary cracks me up. When she was opening presents at the family party, she said, "Are you kidding me?" when she opened a present she was excited about. Never a dull moment with this little lady around. We had some friends over for cupcakes and a ghetto version of a Cinderella cake that I attempted to make on her actual birthday. We like to celebrate birthdays as many times as we can. Any excuse for cake, I'll take it.

Three

Happy birthday to my Audrey girl. What an adventure you have given us. You made me a mom, made me fall even more in love with my husband, you are my best little friend in princess high heels, you are the joy of my joys and you make me laugh every day. I love you so much Audrey. Thanks for the best three years of my whole life.
