Spring Has Sprung

 

Sunday, March 14th was a beautiful day. Dave and Audrey went on a long bike ride. Joshua and I went for a walk. He held my hand the entire way. Then we had a family picnic in our front yard. I love spring.
Sunday, March 21st was freezing. It snowed a few inches. The last two hours of Church were cancelled. I love crazy weather.
Today, March 28th, is my mom's 55th birthday. I wish we could be there to celebrate her. We love you Mom. Happy Birthday.

Piggies Become a Pony

Audrey's hair has been long enough to put into pig tails for quite awhile.

We reached a milestone on Thursday, March 18 when the piggies became a pony tail.

 

 

 

 

Tuesday, March 9

We filled Joshua's birthday with all the things he loves. He woke up to a family room full of balloons. We took Audrey to school (not really his favorite thing but he does like going and seeing all the kids), and then went to the gym (he really likes going to the gym with his little friends). After the gym, Mandy, Seth, Megan, Abby and Jason came with us to get donuts. After donuts we came home had mini Cadbury eggs, and then he took a nap. I don't know how he slept thought, I was bouncing off the walls from so much sugar!

 

We picked up Audrey from school and then played until Dave came home. We went to Joshua's favorite place for dinner...

 

and then to Chuck E. Cheese.
Notice his two index fingers are painted pink. Another birthday gift from his sister.

 

 

 

We came home and opened presents, and is was much like Christmas. He opened the box from Memor and Fafa and then wouldn't open anything else. The next day he finally got around to opened the rest of his gifts.

 

I made Joshua a cake, but he loved these chocolate peanut butter bars I made for Bunco and wanted that instead. He is laughing so hard in this picture. He would blow out the candle before we were done singing "Happy Birthday" and he thought it was ha.lar.ious. I lit that candle probably 25 times. Audrey joined in and they had so much fun.

Favorite food: pickles, avocados, tuna, broccoli, yogurt with granola, and any form of sweats & treats
You still love to act instead of speak. We have really started working with you on your speech, and you seem to be picking it up. But why bother talking? You have a big sister who loves you enough to do anything for you, including communicating.

Carnival Party

Luckily for me, Mandy loves planning birthday parties (I like it, but she gets really excited about it). Luckily for me (again), Seth and Joshua's birthdays are only 10 days apart and so we did a joint party. We did a carnival themed party, perfect for our two little monkeys.

The kids played games like fishing (with the birthday boys being so kind to help),

and coloring their favorite carnival animal mask.

Even the dads got to play a game...They all tied a balloon on their ankle and then had to try and pop all the other balloons. It was hilarious to watch!

Thank you Mandy (and family...Colby, thank you for blowing up all the balloons, and for helping your wife until 1 am). It was so fun planning it, throwing it, and watching our boys be best little buds. Can't wait for next year!

Randomness

*Joshua loves mushrooms. He eats them out of my salad all the time
*Audrey asked if she could get her ears "punched" (pierced)
*Audrey wanted to listen to the song "I Left My Heart in San Francisco" during breakfast yesterday
*Both of my kids are obsessed with pickles. They ate an entire jar in two days
*I played Bunco for the first time last week and had a great time. I even won the "even steven" price. Dave put away three loads of laundry and vacuumed the house while I was gone. It added to the greatness of my night

Trip to California to Meet All the Boys (and to pretend to take care of my mom)

My sister Melissa, found out she was pregnant the day we moved to Texas. She didn't tell me on that day, and I am glad she didn't...I might not have boarded the plane. I knew that when she had the baby we would need to go meet the newest member of our family. When we booked the tickets, I had no idea I would be meeting two new members (Melissa's baby, Rockwell, and my sister Jessica's finance, Ryan). And just to mix things up a bit, my mom fell while skiing in Canada and broke her leg in three different places, resulting in surgery and a long recovery. Nothing to cheer up a bed ridden grandma like having a house full of family right?!
The first boy I met: sweet, perfect, beautiful little Rockwell. He is a dream baby and I loved holding him and watching sweet Savy be such a doting big sister.

 

 

 

My beautiful mom. She is go-geter and I know being laid up must drive her crazy but she never complains. It was fun to lay around, talk and enjoy each others company. I came thinking I would help her, but whatever help I did was quickly undone by my sweet kids.

 

She was allowed to sit up sometimes, and Joshua wanted to be by his "D" whenever he could (I know this picture is kinda fuzzy but I love how bright Audrey and Savy's eyes are - our two blue eyed girls. I think Mr. Rockwell will have blue eyes too).

The second boy I came to meet was Jessica's fiance, Ryan. He had a lot to live up to, marrying the baby of the family and all. I am very happy to report that he passed the test with flying colors. He is darling with my baby sister, so sweet to my kids, and will be a great addition to our family. I am so glad I was able to meet him. Thanks for coming to meet us!

 

 

Here's the thing about Jess, and the lucky guy who gets to marry her...she is a total girls girl, but also a guys girl. She knows all about football, soccer, and hockey, but also how to make hair pretties. Ryan is one lucky guy, and now that I have met him, she is pretty lucky herself.

Andrew and Carrie were kind enough to come from Utah as well adding to all the fun, and all the spoiling of my kids (thank you, thank you for coming!). My kids sure do love all their aunts and uncles.
The kids loved playing outside and being pushed by Uncle Ryan (there will now be two uncle Ryan's) and having Chinese lessons.

 

Aunt Rachel is a champion. She is such a help with the kids, and they all love her so much.

 

The third boy I was able to meet was Gus, Addi's third baby boy. Isn't he adorable? How is it that he is here already? We were able to go into San Francisco for an afternoon on very short notice. I think my mom needed some peace and quiet.

 

4th boy: Angela's sweet Joseph. Yummy.

Dave's parents were kind enough to come pick up my kids and take them for a while so I could really be a help for my mom. After that we headed on down to their place for more fun times and a birthday celebration for Joshua.

 

Another boy I was able to meet: Kristin's "friend" Eddie. Laughed my head off. Very funny guy.

 

We celebrated Joshua's birthday at a really fun place that had games, blow up bouncy house things, yummy pizza, and...

Our five day trip to California was short but sweet. I am so glad we were able to meet all these boys, and at least give my mom some distraction from the pain. Until next time California...
