4th of July

I love the 4th of July. My friend here holds an annual bike race for the kids, and we were lucky enough to join them this year.  The kids lovvvvvved it.

After the bike race we headed to the parade.  We were confused if it was the 4th of July or Halloween with the amount of candy they gave us, but we definitely were not complaining.

After the parade, and naps, we headed back to our friends for a BBQ and a new tradition.  The kids each wrote a wish on a balloon and then we released them all at the same time.

Then on to fireworks.  Luckily, nobody blew off any fingers, but it was a close call.

My attempt to get a picture of all three kids together.  This was the best I got.

Then we headed downtown for more fireworks.

It was a very fun filled, exhausting day.
God bless the USA

Rob & Mercedi

Our good friends Rob and Mercedi came to visit! Dave and Rob did their endo residency together, and they are our favorite miracle family.  We had so much fun swimming, playing, and staying up late laughing! Thank you for coming!

My Birthday

My birthday was full of everything I wanted.
Laughs from my boys,

A note from my girl.  With water spilled on it, no less.  Adds to the perfection of it all.

Lots of good food,

Some good entertainment (hibachi),

Some sugar, and some really cute little faces.  It was a great day.

And a few days later a fun girls night out with some friends for pedicures and a huge pazookie. So nice of them, especially since I was still the "new girl".

Babies

We have anxiously awaiting the birth of Rachel and Ryan's twin boys.  The induction date was set for July 5th.  On the night of June 24th, I got a message (we had friends over for dinner and I thought she was calling to say hi. I am still so mad I didn't answer the phone!) from Rachel that she was in labor and heading to the hospital! I was so excited I couldn't sleep!!!

Those sweet baby boys were born at 10:15 pm on June 24th.  I am so happy for my sister and Ryan!

Proud, happy Grandmas! Enough babies for them both to hold!

Lots and lots of love!

Joshua is loving his karate class! It wa just going to be a summer thing, but he loved it so much we are continuing it in the fall. He had so much fun doing it with Troy! It was hard to keep Austin and Ivy off the mat!

Dave's Birthday and Father's Day

Happy Birthday Dave!
On the Friday before his birthday, the kids and I brought in cookie dough cupcakes to his office.  Notice how the frosting melted off the top one.  Yeah, it was hot.

Saturday, June 16, his actual day.
We played with the kids, Dave hit golf balls and that night we went sailing and out to dinner with Adam and Whitney.  Such a fun night.

It was a busy weekend with Saturday being Dave's birthday and Sunday being Father's Day.  We took the kids to ride their new obsession around the lake.  Fun, relaxing day!

Riding Bikes

June 9, 2012
While I was away at the wedding, Dave was super Dad and took the kids to do all sorts of fun things.  He got them a scoot bike, and within hours both Audrey and Joshua were riding their bikes without training wheels.  Disclaimer: I know Audrey is a little old to just be learning how to ride without training wheels.  But last summer we were in Texas and it was 100 degrees at any time of day so we only swam, never rode bikes.  It was blistering hot.  Then we moved to Colorado and our first weekend there it started to snow.  Then once it finally warmed up we moved here, and then she finally learned.  Audrey was almost 7, and Joshua was barely 4.  Life isn't fair, right?

Scoot bike, learning how to balance. I would highly recommend these.

Mastered.  Big boy bike all by himself.
Austin patiently watching.  Or chasing after them.
Audrey's turn.

Our kids are obsessed with riding their bikes.  That is what they want to do all day, everyday.  How am I supposed to get anything else done?
