Day with the Danes

Dave's mom was born in Denmark, and she still has quite a bit of family there. Marianne's Aunt Jyette came to LA to visit her son and his family, and they were kind enough to come up to the Bay Area so we could see them all as well. It was a great day of playing bocce ball, eating yummy food, talking and just being together.

I stole this picture of Kristin's blog, and the quality isn't good enough to make it big. Arg.

Eat!

On April 22nd, we let Joshua feed himself for the first time. I probably wouldn't have let him yet, but I found pictures of Audrey feeding herself for the first time at this age (see pictures below) so I figured I should let Joshua try. He has been feeding himself for awhile things like bites of sandwiches, quesadillas, fruit, but not applesauce. They both tried for the first time with applesauce. It started well, and ended with a tubby.

Cheerleader Audrey, and messy Joshua (don't mind the bruise on his forehead. This kid always has some sort of bump or bruise).

In the mouth, not all over the house, please.

Audrey tried for the first time on Sept 9, 2006 when she was 13 months old.

I love these kids.

Happy Halloween Honey Bee

Audrey did another Pottery Barn Kids ad last week. It was for Halloween and she was a bumble bee. All the way there she asked if she got to say, "trick or treat." Happy Halloween in April!

The set.

Getting her face painted. She informed the makeup artist that she needed sparkles. She obliged.

Our sweet, sweet, honey bee.

Her Halloween friends.

We had a little surprise when we went to Target to get her a surprise and Audrey wanted a zournal (journal) instead of cosmetics. Oh happy day. P.S. She has no idea who the boy is on the front of this journal (neither do I actually). It was a hologram and she likes how he moved when she moved the journal. If she would have known who he was, she wouldn't be allowed to get the journal.

Dave was able to be home with Joshua, so Audrey and I had some fun mommy/daughter time and went to get some ice cream. She put the sprinkles on all by herself.

Good news!

The ice cream bars are back at Costco!

Trying to walk

Sunday, April 21st.
Dear diary,
I know I took a few steps once, but I still like to crawl instead of try to walk. My mom really wants me to walk so she won't have to carry me everywhere anymore. We had lessons today...

they didn't go very well.

This trying to walk stuff is hard work. I needed a break.

I will try anything to get to my ball though.

Timber.

Again.

Maybe if Belle helps me I can do it.

Then again, maybe not.

I think I will work on my yoga instead of my walking skills.

Down dog.

Maybe next week.

Love,
Joshua
P.S. I promise to always love my mom and do whatever she says.

Beach

On Monday, April 20th, the weather was hot, hot, hot (but. nothing.like.Texas.will.be). We went down to the beach and enjoyed a fun day at the beach with some friends, and then a three and a half hour nap. Auntie Ritz came and spent the night with us that night, making it the perfect day.
