I love blogging, but I have been so terrible at it lately. It makes me so happy to do it, but so much anxiety when I am not caught up. Here is my attempt to throw some (lots and lots) of pictures on here and get caught up.
August 2014...
Sharing a coke with Aunt Jess.
Swim team with cute little friends.
A little roller skating.
On the morning of our anniversary (it was a Saturday), Audrey and Joshua woke us up with breakfast in bed. They planned it all on their own.
Dave built a work bench and Ryan was so nice to come and help. Until midnight. While Jess and I watched the Bachelor.
Loving on baby Kens.
We swam, a lot. And got warm on the pavement (I remember doing that as a kid too). And it was so much fun when a husband could come and throw all the kids around. It didn't happen very often, but the kids loved it when it did.
We read old blog books (see why I put this pressure on myself to stay up to date?)
We snuggled.
We made funny faces.
We swam some more.
We drank slushies.
And put SunIn in Austin's hair. Not really, but strangers would ask if I had.
A sign of a good day in the sunshine.
We celebrated this little lady's ninth birthday. It was "family party" year so we went as a family with Jess and Ryan to an arcade and then out to dinner.
We went to Ryan's White Coat Ceremony. We love having them close!
We played superheros, and admiring our older brother.
We rode scooters to our friends house to swim.
And tried to help Austie on the raft. Teamwork. #unsuccessful
We played racquetball with Uncle Ryan.
Joshua and Audrey got to "babysit" Kensie while Jess and I worked out. It was a win win situation.
Jess and I made this impressive/deliciousness one afternoon.
Be amazed. I am.
Dave and I did a health challenge with some friends and you only got to eat sugar one day a week. WE LOVED TREAT DAY!!!
Starting to think about Halloween costumes...
Crackers by the pool. Is there anything better?
Metting their teachers. #beliveinyourself After the volunteer behind the desk told Audrey and Joshua who their teachers were, Austin yelled, "Hey! What about me?!" I feel sorry for him (and me) next week when his two best friends leave him.
At any age, good friends make the world a brighter place.
We took naps.
Last swim of the summer. The day before school started.
Some backyard football before the big day.
Haircuts.
Relaxing/copying friends.
Joshua chose this shirt because his "sister is nine". He couldn't keep a straight face for the picture.
"Joshua, your hair is sooooo soft."
We fished (and by we I mean Dave took the kids).
Note to self: next time I run a nighttime 5K, do not eat hamburger helper for dinner. #barf There was something awesomely horrific about running in the pitch dark with the only light being from glow necklaces and bracelets.
After school started.
Just me and my shadow (we were walking into the library for story time).
Soccer practice, Austin was in heaven.
We went to eat lunch with Joshua. He was so sad because he accidentally ordered hot lunch option C (meat sandwich) instead of option B (salad). Luckily I had just gone to the grocery store, so he got to come to the car and eat his way through the groceries. He told me I saved his day. Music to my ears.
We got rid of the crib and changing table that I used with all three of my babes. I remember when I was pregnant with Audrey and we went to buy it, Dave had to call the credit card company from the store because it was such a "big purchase" and the credit card company thought our card had been stolen.
I lined those drawers with the pink polka dot liners that Marianne gave me when I was pregnant with Audrey. And they are still lined with the same paper.
Just some guitar playing.
And posing.
Andrew, Carrie, Ty and London came to visit. It was so so so much fun.
It was a great month!
