The Lands- Disney and Lego

After our fun time at the beach celebrating my Grandpa's 90th birthday, we headed back down south to go to Disneyland for two days, and Lego Land for two days.

In line for the Buzz ride while Dave stood in line to get Fast Pass tickets for the new Cars ride.  That was the hype this trip.

Disneyland is always more fun when there are more adults than kids, enter Bruce and Marianne.  We love that they love to come with us.

Cars ride.

Tired boy.

Happiest place on Earth.

California Screamin. Joshua has been eating his vegetables religiously for the last two years for the sole purpose of growing tall enough to ride this ride. #success

Goofy's Kitchen for dinner.  So much fun.

Audrey's two favorite rides were California Screamin and Autotopia.  She loved being able to drive all by herself. Sigh. Growing up too quickly.

Joshua loved it too.

Lucky me, I got the opportunity of having Austin drive us.  It was three minutes of hysterical laughter, and lots and lots of bumping into the railing.  I loved every second.

He thinks he is the parade. #dreamsdocometrue

In line for the Jungle Cruise.  Audrey has always loved Austin, but even more so lately she has been  wanting to hold him, and be his little mama.

Day two at Disney.  Beignets for breakfast.

Thunder Mountain.  Austin was tall enough to go on it, but didn't want to go on it again.

Austie Boy is back Dave saying, "Hey! my shoes are wet! Hey! My shorts are wet!" Me too buddy, me too.

Hello Mickey.

My cousin Jenn and her cute family.  It was fun to meet up with them a couple of times.  Jenn and I were really close growing up, and we talked about how odd it was that we were there together with our kids.  When did we grow up and become the moms?

I seriously need to work on my game face. Unlike my kids on California Screamin, I had no idea this picture was being taken. #wimp

Lots of sugar, mixed with not enough sleep...this doesn't surprise me one bit.

Austin loved the characters from a distance.

But would be brave if Audrey and Joshua were with him.

Couldn't take his eyes off the parade.  It was a very fun filled time at Disney, can't wait for next time!

On Thursday morning we went to Downtown Disney for more beignets, and Marianne had the kids give me these cute treats for Mother's Day. Then we drove down to...

LEGOLAND!!!

This place was so fun and totally catered to kids.  The hotel check in...

and the elevators had a disco ball with music, the kids got to go on a scavenger hunt to find clues which unlocked a chest in the room that had gold coins and lego sets in it. The kids loved it.

It was a nice contrast from Disney...not crowded at all.  A few times we didn't even have to get off the rides, we just got to go again because there was no line. We are glad we went when we did...the week after we went Lego Land had to be evacuated because of wild fires.
The fun rides.

Joshua loved that he was old enough (and tall enough) to go on some rides all by himself.

Driving school. He even stopped at the red light.

Waving.  Maybe he thinks he is the parade again?

Driving school for Audrey and Joshua.

Joshua and I went on this ride together and you were supposed to petal. Joshua kept telling me to relax  and that he would do all the work. Such a little gentleman.

This cute little thing...when you stomped on the circle in front of the instrument, that instrument would play. So when everyone would stomp together, it sounded like the complete orchestra was playing the song.

Best buds.

More fun at Legoland. Safari ride, the set of the Lego Movie, and fun rides.  A special thanks to Marianne and Dave for riding the rides with Audrey that her mama couldn't handle.  Bruce and Marianne are such great sports and we loved having them with us!

Sleepover party. The kids loved it.

Great way to end our trip, building sand castles and chasing waves in Santa Monica with Aunt Sara and Uncle Ben. Back to reality tomorrow.

Playing duck duck goose in the airport during our three hour layover.

We flew home on Mother's Day, and I love how the parking arm thingy said "Happy Mother's Day" on it.  The kids were so good and kept making sure I was having a nice Mother's Day.  It was a really fun 10 days spent with lots and lots of family.  We had a great time!
