Easter

On Easter Sunday, we went to our church and then drove out to East Bay to spend the day with Dave's family.

We had a great day of cookie decorating,

quality family time,

egg finding,

candy eating,

and more candy eating.

The Easter egg hunt was fabulous. Not only were there treats in some of the eggs, there were also pictures of family members. When they got our picture, they would come to us, and we each told part of the story of Easter. It was a great way to keep the true meaning of Easter the central focus.

Another fun activity was a race of Eater activities for the "big kids". It involved finding eggs, "pictionary" with the little kids guessing, bean bag toss, and even a station where we ate a carrot and then had to say "I am a wascally wabbit" three times. I lost the race.

My sister in law Kristin, wins for best picture of the day...

Happy Easter!

Hi Michelle! It's Ruth! I know I haven't left a comment in forever, but i just wanted you to know that i love to come and check out your blog from time to time. Your kids are gorgeous.

Quincy has the same dress that Audrey has in this post and the Old Navy one that you have in the post below. We have good taste! And we are quite the bargain shoppers! no one would ever know where we got that dress from huh? :)

Congrats on Dave's school! That is great news. Good luck!

Very cute! I love the easter egg hunt idea with the stories of Christ- I have been wrestling with the idea of how to emphasize the true meaning of holidays and minimize the commercialism. That was perfect to include both. Your family is beautiful- your baby boy is darling! Good luck relocating in the next couple of months and starting a new phase. I'm sure you'll love it.

That is a great picture of Joshua. And I love the picture of a family member idea for the easter egg hunt. I'm always a bit jealous when I see all your get togethers with both of your families. It's so great to live so close to them.
