Dear Audrey's Park,

Thank you for serving as a backyard to my city kids for the last three years. But you have been better than my backyard, you have been everyone's backyard. Almost daily we would feel the urge to escape our 840 square foot apartment and walk over to come play. Almost always a friend would join us, as they were feeling the same urge. Hours and hours were spent playing here, having playgroups here, having Thursday night dinners here during night clinic time. I love how there are no swings here (so my kids have to run and play instead of just sit in a swing), how it is fenced in, how we were able to listen to our kids play and use their imaganations, how we sat on old rusted folding chairs, and the easy parking situation. Thank you for the many, many happy memories we have made here.

Hah! Seriously your apartment was 840 square feet? That's just short of our house - I think it's exactly 899. Too funny. How's your new house/apartment/condo/townhome/living situation? You'll have to post about it - or did you already and I missed it?
Hope you're surviving the heat.

Yesterday the weather was sunny here (finally!) and I was thrilled to get to hang out in the backyard for the first time. I rounded up Bryson and a little picnic lunch and headed outside. Guess what...literally five minutes after we got out there Bryson wanted to go back inside. What the heck!

All those times we were lusting after other peoples' backyards, I didn't even realize that our little Stilwell park had so much more to offer than a backyard--it had friends and play equipment!
