This. is. it.
Five and half years ago when Dave told me he wanted to go to dental school, I thought this day would never come, yet here it is. I am so happy, yet so sad to have this day be here. It is a time to celebrate great accomplishments, but we also have to say goodbye to so many people we have come to love so much. The time went by way faster than I ever imagined, and so much has changed for our little family. I am so proud of Dave and all he has accomplished. Happy Graduation Class of 2009. Here's to full hearts, proud families, bright futures, and today, lots of tears.

Today
Today my little ones left San Francisco, not to return before we move. Graduation festivities begin tonight, so I took Audrey and Joshua to the East Bay to be watched by grandparents and aunties while Dave and I live it up. It made my heart sad to take my kids away from this city where they were both born, where I fell in love with their dad over and over again, where our little family has lived for so long, and from our life by the bay. San Francisco sure has been good to us.

Wicked
Merry Christmas to us! Bruce and Marianne gave us Wicked tickets for Christmas, and babysitting, so we had a fun night on the town. We went to Union Square and shopped for graduation weekend clothes (I didn't find one thing for me, but we rented Dave's tux), and had a great dinner at the best food court I have ever been to. Why the food court with no kids? I have no idea.
and then went to see Wicked (or should I say, "Icked". Hey stranger, you need to work on your photog skills). LOVED it. Thanks for a great Christmas gift!

Boards
Dave took his practical boards last weekend. Stress.ful.
I was lucky enough to be his assistant. It was so fun watching him do his thing.
Emerson came by and I asked him to take this picture. Dave was not amused, obviously.
My glasses are all fogged up because I couldn't figure out how to seal my mask. Don't you love the sunglasses the patient is wearing? Mandatory.

Faz
I met Farnaz on the first day of seventh grade, and we were instant friends. We have been through first crushes, first kisses, first heartbreaks, and first loves together. We made a pact in seventh grade that we would always be best friends, and I am happy to say, we have kept it.
Dave was out of town mid May (finding us a house in Texas) so Farnaz came to spend the day with me and my kids.
I love how Joshua is literally half her size!
She was so kind to bring presents for my kids, and this is the tea set she brought Audrey. Audrey took this picture.
Thanks for coming Faz. We love you, and Audrey plays with that stinkin tea set every day and spills water everywhere, but it makes me smile since it was from you! :)

Sweet Kathy
I met Kathy almost six years ago. Her husband traveled a lot and I didn't have any kids so we would hang out all the time. We would go to Mama's and always order the Monte Cristo. My baby shower for Audrey was at her beautiful home, and after we blessed Audrey we all went over to her house for a luncheon. Audrey loves going to sit by Kathy during church and loves going over to her house. Sweet Kathy took some of the graduating girls to lunch to celebrate/mourn the upcoming moves. I will miss you Kathy, come see me in Texas.

Cookbooks
Last Thursday night, we all got together to assemble the cookbooks that Kitrina had printed off for us (thank you Kitrina!). We each submitted recipes and then everyone made something they submitted so we could taste it. I love that I can remember these lovely ladies by cooking their delicious recipes when I am in Texas.
Memorial Day
I love any sort of patriotic holiday. This year to help remember the meaning of Memorial Day, we went the parade in the Presidio. Loved it.
Joshua was really excited to see a dog.
Audrey's cute bootie.
Audrey loves taking pictures with my camera. She is becoming quite the photographer, and she doesn't even know it! She took this one,
and this one,
Happy Memorial Day!

It was really stirring to see 30,000 graves and an American flag on every single one.
