Making Magic

This is our first year of doing Christmas on our own. I feel the pressure. Christmas is such a magical time, and I feel the sole responsibility of making sure my sweet kids feel, and more importantly understand the meaning behind the magic.

Last Sunday we decorated our tree. Audrey decided it was a girl tree, and she was so feminine in the way she went about putting up the decorations. This was the victory dance that was done after every ornament was put on the tree. Not quite sure what Joshua is doing. P.S. He is wearing a sleep sack...it is like a permanent blanket while he sleeps, and it makes it so he can't climb out of his crib. Genius, I know.

Almost finished. I love how most of the ornaments ended up at the same height, her height.

Then in true tradition, we sang Silent Night as Audrey put the star on the top of the tree.

Joshua's turn. Anything Audrey does, this little boy wants to do too.

Happy Halloween!

My camera is still in transit so I am playing catch up while I wait for my Thanksgiving pictures to get here!
Audrey was in the PBK window display again at Halloween.

Doing a curtsey. She has been obsessed with learning how to do a curtsey correctly.

It is weird for me to see these pictures up. It feels like a different lifetime when they were shot back in the spring. So much has changed since then!

We went to meet "Barbie" at the store as well. It was a fun mommy/daughter date, but I was disappointed in the Barbie in her pajamas! I wanted the fancy dress. Audrey didn't seem to care though, and that's what matters.

Soccer Star

Audrey played soccer this fall. She loved it, and she was quite the little soccer star.

First practice, back in August. We had just got back from California that same day, so I didn't have time to get her soccer socks. I can not believe how tan she is!

Audrey and Tatum

The best part of practice; snack time after it was over.

Game day!

A big sports fan and an even bigger fan of Audrey.

Getting the ball...

Going in for a goal...

She made it!

Celebration dance after.

Double rainbow

Crazy sunset. Never a dull moment!

Gooooooo team!

Celebrating after the win with some ice cream. Her team won, hence the one finger Audrey is holding up.

After the last game in November, they all got a medal.

A few days later they all got a trophy (Audrey didn't want to wear her uniform).

Joshua was a great sport during the season, and he celebrated with a cupcake (or two).

San Antonio

I left my camera in California when we went for Thanksgiving and while I wait for it to get shipped back (thanks Mom), I thought I would hurry and catch up on the things I haven't blogged about yet.

A few weeks ago, we headed to San Antonio with Mandy and Colby. It was such a fun weekend and the kids did so well. Dave served his mission here and it was fun to come back and hear his stories from when we was last here.

The Alamo.
Audrey, Tatum, Seth and Joshua......and Colby.

Joshua trying to ride the horse.

The Six Flags over Texas.

Guided River Walk tour, probably my favorite part. Every year they drain the River Walk and guess what the number one item they find on the bottom is? Silverware from all the restaurants.

The boys were angels during the shopping.

Our kids have never stayed in a hotel before. Poor Audrey was so confused and asked where our mail was going to be delivered.

Love the big boot outside of the mall.

Colby and Mandy were very tired from staying up so late playing games.

On the way home we stopped at Rudy's. Dave loved this place when he was on his mission, and it did not disappoint. It was soooo good.

Yes, it is attached to a gas station, but what good bbq place isn't?

Thanks for a great weekend!

Bulls Eye

Saturday afternoon date. Endodontists-to-be (and some bonafied endodontists) and me. Lots of fun, but I was a bundle of nerves. Dave on the other hand, was having a hayday.

Love the truck.

One would think, and hope, that endodontist have impeccable aim. They deal with little tiny canals all day long and have to have amazing dexterity. I, however, the only non-endo person there, got a bulls eye. Boo yeah. Bottom circle.

I think my blood pressure finally lowered a few hours after we got home. (My sunglasses look funny because it hurt too badly to wear them under those tight head phones, so I had to tip them up.)
