June 2014

Summer is in full swing around here. It hasn't been too hot, which has been so nice.  We swim, we play, we do chores, and workbooks (sometimes), go to the gym (for my sanity), and that's about all - my favorite kind of summer.

Austie all Sabbathed out, acting oh so reverent.

Our little friend who went away for the summer.  We miss his smiling face!

Pool time.

More pool time.

I got to do a really fun fashion show, and I loved all the clothes I got to wear.

I guess these shoes are kind of a big deal.  Sarah Jessica Parker wore a pair like them on Sex and the City, and some other celebrity wore them at her wedding.  All the girls wanted to take a picture wearing them after I walked in them. I'm so oblivious to stuff like that.

I love sunsets, I always have.  They remind me of my Grandma Jeanette.  My friend, Chrissy, loves the sky.  I have been paying more attention to the sky all during the day, not just at sunset time.  It is has been so beautiful.

Austin and Ry.  And tape on the playroom floor where furniture would go.

Angel and Kevin's wedding.

This guy loves his kids.  Audrey really wanted a play house, so the two of them designed it together, and Dave built it.

Families that drill together, stay together. #buildingaplayhouse #whyaredadsalwaysthegoodguys

Making a little blue slime.

$1 squirt bottles...over an hour of entertainment.

More swimming.

Waiting for the Zendaya concert to start. #mybestlittlefriend #uno #propstothosewhozendayait #disneychannelshakeitup

Our first concert together: success.  Here's to many more. #ZforZendaya #backwards

Dave. The best treat bowl maker, air guitar player, play house maker, grocery shopper (comes home with all sorts of fun treats and diet coke), and the one who teaches my kids to have a love for all different kinds of music. My kids and I are so lucky to have him, and we know it.

A man that raises five daughters deserves a special shout out on Father's Day. Since he is the only human left that doesn't have a cell phone, he will probably never see this, but still wanted to say Happy Father's Day to my Dad. I love you.

Happy 40th birthday to my best friend. I don't know who is more weirded out that he is 40, him or me. Probably me.

Bruce and Marianne bought us this swing for our birthdays.  The kids love it. I find them out here multiple times a day, most of the time with a snack.

My parents came to visit. We got some BBQ and took it to the pool, it was so fun.

We FaceTimed with the twins while we were at the pool.  I kept thinking it was frozen, because the boys were sitting so still.  They were in awe of baby Kensie.

To say these three are obsessed with baby Kensie would be an understatement.

More sky.

Lazy day playing Legos.

I would drop my mom and kids off at the corner gas station, and they would get slurpees and walk home (their request).  It was over 1.5 miles long, and they did it two days in a row! My mom taught them the song I learned when I was a little girl, "Eddie Cuthie Catcha Cama Toosie Narie Toosia Noka, Sama Kama Wacky Brown".

We went swimming at the neighbors and the kids walked home while this lazy sack drove.

More Kensie obsession.

Hypnotized by the TV.  It would be so easy to let these kids watch TV alllllll day long.  They would love it, I would love it, my house would stay clean, but as I tell them, their brains would turn to mush.

More time on the swing.

More time in the pool, which basically wraps up the month of June!

May 2014

4 of out 5 of us have never seen Star Wars. Audrey and I are trying to like it. #yawn

Vacation detoxification.

Fun night with these ladies at sweet Hayden's art show to raise money for CF.

With the artist herself.

My friend Clancey's wedding. So gorgeous.

Since we were traveling all day on Mother's Day, we celebrated the next weekend.  I got breakfast in bed, and then that night we went out for Thai food.  My kids are obsessed with Thai food.  Audrey said, "Mom, since you spent so much time in Thailand, you basically are Thai, which means I am part Thai, and that's why we love the food so much." (????)

And then came home and watched a movie in 3D and ate lots and lots of candy.

These pictures of Audrey make me happy. I remember I used to love to roll down my window and feel the wind on my arms as a little girl.

Her nail polish changed colors in the sunshine.

Swim lessons for Austie.  He has come so far.  He can swim the width of the pool without a floaty! But I am still making him wear a floaty this summer.  He's not that strong of a swimmer yet.
Diving/aka belly flops.

Pre-pre-school graduation.
I did this "Mommy school" with some friends and their kids.  It was my first time doing it (sorry Audrey and Joshua) and I really enjoyed it.

We started a garden.

Last day of school. Austin and I came to eat at the picnic lunch with Joshua, and then Audrey.

She loves him.

After the last day of school we went to a party at a park for a few minutes and then attempted swimming at a friends house.  It started to have lightening and thunder and rain sideways bc of the rain so we went home.

And Audrey jumped on the tramp all afternoon in the pouring rain.

That night we went to Braum's with Chrissy and Taysia and families to celebrate school being done!
The next day was Saturday and some friends invited us to come swim. Wah wah. More rain.  But it cleared up and the kids were able to roast smores and swim and had a great time.

We took the kids to BJ's that night to celebrate a great school year.

Gorgeous sunsets!

I didn't take one picture for Memorial Day, but we went swimming at Chrissy and Pete's in the morning, and then over to Becky and Pat's for a BBQ dinner and swimming. Really fun day.

Pretty sky one afternoon.

Dave and I got to go to a few basketball games.  It was so fun.  That is a really good carmel apple we are eating.  It's a terrible picture, but I wanted to remember this fun night.

I took the kids to an amusement park.  Austin is at the horrid age where he is tall enough to ride as along as an adult goes with him.  So I did the spinny, make me want to vomit, rides with them. Because look at that face.  It's worth dry heaving three times on the way home for.

Fire truck outside the gym one day.  The kids loved it.

A great reminder. This was the spiritual thought from a meeting we had.

Another pretty sky.

I cleaned out Austin's closet and got rid of lots of clothes.  These were my favorites that I remember both Joshua and Austin wearing.

Valentines Day shirt for both boys.

My friend Leslie gave this to Austin for his first birthday.  And then my twin nephews wore it.

Audrey's Dance Recital

Audrey had her dance recital last week (notice I didn't say 10 months ago...holla! It feels so good to be "caught up".  I can't remember the last time this happened). This girl loves to perform and be on stage.

Hip Hop. "Gummy Bears"

 Jazz. "How Do I Look?"

 Competition Piece. "California Girls"

Ballet. "Favorite Things"

She was the rose ("Raindrops on roses...")

Miss Lauren and her teammates.

Cute Rylee and Elle in their first dance recital!

My one and only.

Dave and they boys came (they did surprisingly well) and left after her last number, but before curtain call.  Audrey and I went to celebrate at Braum's after, and sat in the same exact booth as last year.
How I love my little girl.
