November 2013

We went camping (rented a cabin. Glamping- glamour camping) with some friends for a weekend. So fun. Austie and Jace.

Our morning workout. #workingoffsomeopresmorescalories

Great day at the waterfalls!

Exploring caves and castles, add a little water in the mix and it makes for a perfect day.

Such a relaxing weekend...fishing, playing, exploring, hanging out with friends, and eating s'mores.

Austin as Santa.  Austin as a nutcracker.

Happy Veterans Day.

Gender reveal party for Heather. It's a girl!

I love these ladies. Christina. Alyssa. Heather. Randi.  One big universal closet. Sisterhood of the traveling clothes.

That awesome moment when you're in the shower at the gym and realize you left your jeans at home. So you leave the gym wearing your workout pants, tucked into your boots. #fail

Daddy Cowboy Day at Joshua's school.  Dave already had a packed day, so I got to play Dad.  They had horsey races, and Joshua was trying to run so fast he ended up falling. I was his horse, and he named me Butterscotch.

Singing in the program.  I love this little cowboy.

Dress as a character in a book day.  He really wanted to be a spider.

My friend Leah was in the hospital for 10 weeks while pregnant. Audrey and I drove down for the weekend to be with her girls.  It was so fun.
Bowling.

Spending time with Leah in the hospital.

Memor needed a root canal so she came to visit! Hooray!

Fun afternoon at the park after school. Side story: Audrey really wanted glasses but doesn't need them. I agreed to buy her some of these fake ones at Walmart.  I was helping in her classroom a few days later and her teacher told me she doesn't allow the kids to wear fake glasses.  I asked if Audrey knew this, and she said yes. And then she said, "Audrey told me she needed glasses but her mom and dad don't have the money to take her to the Dr., so that is why she wears the ones she has." Gah.  I was so embarrassed. I asked Audrey when she got home what she had said to her teacher, and she said, "I told her my mom and dad don't want to spend the money to take me." Disclaimer: if I thought she really needed glasses, of course I would take her. But she doesn't, so I don't want to.

My blue eyed girl.

These kids love to "make up recipes". I was sending an email for church and came in to find Rice Krispies with sugar, butter and peanut butter. And a glass of milk with strawberries, ice, jam and yogurt.  "Tastes pretty good! Try it!"

One of my favorite views.

We went to go see The Hunger Games on opening night in this awesome theater that you can reserve your seat before you go.  And the chairs recline. A very fuzzy picture of Chrissy and Pete, but a fun night I want to remember.

Monkeys in the pantry.

Last night's "Chill Your Cheeks" 5K.  It worked. My cheeks were chilled. Loved running with my running partner, Chrissy.  And loved having Dave and the kids at the finish line. #theyranacrossthefinishlinetoo

Snow.  The best kind: big, fluffy flakes, the kind you can hear hit the ground, and the kind they cancel church for.

October 2013

Austin and Rylee, caught red handed, while wearing tutus.

Breath of Life Gala. #cysticfibrosisbenefit #sixtyfiveroses

The simple joys of a big box.

Austin is obsessed with Dave. So much so, that we have to come up with rewards for Austin if he can go the whole day without throwing a major fit because he wants his Dad. This has happened twice. Last nights reward: riding around in the backseat of Dave's car while going "wewey fast". #supertrashy #joshuathoughthesawarobberandwantedtostopandpunchhimintheface

Beautiful day at the zoo. #fallbreak #littlemamaaudreypushingthestroller

Today I am grateful for really strong glass. #tigerspitrunningdowntheglass #kidswereinheaven

Fun weekend adventure. #fivelittlemonkeyslayingonabed #twobiggermonkiesplayinggames #whatdoesthefoxsay

Some fishing on a beautiful Saturday in Oklahoma.

We had a great weekend roasting hotdogs, s'mores, and fishing with great friends (and drinking dirty Dr. Peppers on the porch)!  #thatstupidfoxsongwassungallweekendlong #itsgrowingonme

These two love birds finally found each other and made it official!!! Kristin will make one beautiful bride! I am so so so happy for them!

Deciding on a paint color for the playroom.  This project just kept getting bigger and bigger.  Wainscoting. Molding. Lots of work, done by Dave.

One of these things in not like the others. One of these things will not be able to go to school like his big brother and sister (like he thinks he gets to in the picture). And one of these things will be so sad watching them drive away with carpool. #ijustcalledmysonathing #butitsbecauseofthesong #hewantstodoeverythingtheydo

We did it! Dave's first half marathon! Next time he said he might train a little more. #hehasntraninoveramonth
Side note: I ran and finished with Chrissy. But I ran back and finished the last .1 with Dave.  He was on mile eight and some girl ran by with a shirt that said, "13.1 in 2013". Dave thought to himself, "What a moron. A half marathon is only 12 miles." Then he remembered it was 13.1 and had to gear himself up for the extra 1.1 mile. Ha!

I could not have done it without this girl. The long runs (aka therapy sessions), the encouragement, the laughs and even the tears. Thanks Chrissy for great training, and for a great run today!

The amazing half human/half cheetah Carma who won FIRST PLACE overall for women! 1:30 people.  #shehasfivekids #sheisinspiring

Soccer practice for the olders.

So happy to cross that finish line last weekend. #professionalpictureswereposted #greatestterriblehorribleawesomeday

Happy Halloween! #candyforbreakfast

Austin's little Halloween party.

Joshua's party.  For whatever super lame reason, the kids couldn't dress up for Halloween. Lame.

Austin just made himself at home in the teacher's chair.

Audrey's class party. With all that candy, it's so hard to get a good picture.

We went to visit Dave at work, and because of all that candy, it was really hard to get a family picture.

Trick or treat!
