Dear Baby

Dear Baby,
I felt you move for the first time last week! It was the night of Sunday, Sept 16th and it was the beginning of finals week for your Dad. I was feeling a little overwhelmed with all that was going on and I was laying in bed late at night and I thought I felt a little move from you! I was so excited! At the time I was only 15 1/2 weeks along so I wasn't sure if it was you. Then on the night of Wednesday the 19th I was laying in bed and I knew for sure it was you. Your Dad was up late studying for his finals in the other room so I called him in and he was excited too. I love this part of pregnancy. It makes it feel so real. I love you Baby.

Catching Up

I feel like I have so much to catch up on from my "sick days" of being pregnant when I couldn't blog. Unfortunately, I am the kind of person where if I feel behind, I don't feel motivated to get going, I only stress about the fact that whatever I need to accomplish isn't finished, and instead I start on another project. Terrible, I know. I am going to try to catch up my blog entries (and my bills, and my house cleansing, and my laundry) from those terrible weeks when all I could do was eat, eat, eat (eating helped me feel better), lay on the couch and try to keep Audrey from sticking beads up her nose.
I have a new nephew! Sweet little Jason Robert was born on August 14th. He is SO cute! My sister in law Andrea is paving the way for me down this "having two kids" street.
Aunt Das gave Audrey a soccer ball for her birthday (pink of course). She loves to go play soccer, and she gets all her skills from her Auntie. She loves to run after the ball, kick it, and then occasionally sit down and pick the flowers next to the ball (she gets that from me).
Audrey doesn't like to be the lowest man on the totem poll. I found her putting her dolly in time out!
Cuddling her dolly after she served her time in time out. Audrey will make a great big sister.
Happy Birthday Owee! We went to ride the steam train in Berkeley, and Audrey LOVED it! Thanks for the fun day!
Mini high school reunion. We all haven't been together since the joint baby shower for Audrey, and bridal shower for Kristy, yet it felt like we were all together yesterday. Those are the friendships to cherish.

Off to bed. Goal: catch up by next week.

"Certain is it that there is no kind of affection so purely angelic as of a father to a daughter. In love to our wives there is desire; to our sons, ambition; but to our daughters there is something which there are no words to express."

Coming this spring...

Audrey is going to be a big sister! I am 14 weeks along and Baby #2 is due March 6th, 2008. We found out we were expecting on the 4th of July. We are thrilled to be having another baby and Audrey will make a great big sister. I have been more sick with this pregnancy than I was with Audrey so that explains the lack of posts for the last couple of weeks. I am feeling better so hopefully I can catch up! We are excited to be a family of 4!

Excuse this Home

Some homes try to hide the fact

That children shelter there.

Ours boasts of it quite openly,

The signs are everywhere.

For smears are on the windows,

Little smudges on the door;

I should apologize I guess,

For the toys strewn on the floor.

But I sat down with the children:

We played and laughed and read.

And if the doorbell doesn’t shine,

their eyes will shine instead.

For when at times I’m forced to choose

The one job or the other,

I want to be a homemaker

But first I’ll be a mother.

Happy Birthday sweet Audrey

Our little Audrey turned two last week. I can't believe I have a two year old daughter...where does the time go? Here are some pictures of her actual day of birth, her first birthday and then her second birthday. Our little girl is growing up!
About nine hours into labor. Hurry and come baby girl! Audrey was nameless in the hosptial for a whole day!
Dave, Audrey and I are so lucky to have both our families so close by. They came to meet their first granddaughter!Wasn't she a beautiful newborn?Birthday Girl!!! Audrey got booked for a modeling job on her birthday and I almost didn't take her because who wants to work on their birthday! But I decided to, and I'm so glad I did. The photographers made such a big deal, and everyone sang to her numerous times, gave her suckers, blew bubbles for the birthday girl, and she loved every second of it! This is Audrey in the waiting room...she loves the chalkboard on the wall!Audrey's first birthday at the Discvoery Museum. I love her little face!Audrey's second birthday at the exact same place. My how she has grown...especially her hair!Dave and I decided that for Audrey's first birthday we would go out to a nice dinner at Roy's Resturant. We thought she was too young to really understand it was her birthday and we wanted to celebrate!Roy's brought Audrey this yummy little dessert for her birthday. It was our anniversary the week before and they wrote that on there too!Roy's Resturant was so yummy, and made us all feel so special on Audrey's first birthday so we decided to come back for her second birthday as well! This time her plate said, "Happy 2nd Birthday Audrey!" Our great friends Regan, Joel and Maggie joined us this time too. We can't wait to celebrate Maggie's second birthday at Roy's! I LOVE that place.

We threw Audrey's second birthday party last Saturday at the church. I know it sounds so lame to do it at the church, but it is the only place that can accomadate parking for more than one car that didn't cost $1,000 to rent! Thank you for all who helped! This was the yummy food table.

We had the adults play a game where they tied a balloon on their ankle and then had to try to pop everyone elses balloon. It was so funny to watch them all jump around!

I thougth Audrey would be afraid of all the ballon popping but she loved it! She kept yelling, "Kick! Balloon!" and would laugh so loud! Notice the shirt she is wearing...I bought it at a boutique when Audrey was about 16 months old. You can't see it very well, but it has the number 2 in diamonds on the front.

So this is basically the worst picture of me ever, but it is the only picture I have of the shirt I was wearing, and the ring I was wearing. My sister Jessica came to Audrey's party wearing this shirt and I made her take it off and let me wear it! It has all these hearts on it with Audrey Hepburn's face in them and then on the bottom of the shirt it says, "Audrey". Of course I had to wear it! The ring I am wearing (on the hand that touching my hair) is the ring Dave gave me in the hospital when I had Audrey. He picked out the gems, designed it and then had it made. I love it and I wear it on all of Audrey's special days. Memor and Fafa gave Audrey this perfect Cinderlla dress, and then Fafa made Audrey a book! They are both very special gifts. Thank you!Aunt Ritz and Aunt Alli. Some of our great firends. Angela made Audrey this beautiful princess cake for her party. Thank you Angela for sparing me from having to try to make something that cute!Pinata time!
Happy family.
We are so blessed to have our family so close! We had a great time celebrating our little Audrey's second birthday. Happy Birthday little miss.

Weekend with Jess

My youngest sister Jessica is headed off to college in two weeks. I can't even begin to imagine how much I am going to miss her. When Jessica was born I was nine, and therefore I thought I was her second mother. I dressed her up, taught her dances, and I think every picture we have of her childhood, I took! When I moved back to CA four years ago Jess and I became really close. I loved going home to my parent's house and talking with Jess about anything and everything. Now she has become Audrey's Aunt Das and Audrey will miss her like crazy too. For one last sister get away before she left, Jessica and I went to Southern CA for the weekend. We had a great time eating, going to a movie, laying at the beach, and we even made up a dance! I love you so much Jess!
Eating at Sizzler on the drive down. Holy cow, I LOVE that place! I haven't eating at Sizzler in probably five years. The cheese bread, the salad bar, the dessert bar...yummy!
I love the beach! Thanks Jess for a great weekend!

Six years ago today...

Six years ago today I did the best thing I have ever done...I married Dave. I can't believe it was six years ago, where does the time go? If someone would have asked me on our wedding day where I thought I would be in six years, I never in a million years would have thought Dave would be in dental school, or that I could be so happy. I married the man of my dreams, and the last six years only make me more excited for the next sixty.
