Another One Bites the Dust

 

Two down. One week and one day apart. I hope this stops now for awhile. My heart aches.
Tooth fairy glitter will be all over our house again in the morning. Good thing I didn't vacuum today!

I Feel Torn...

Rangers or Giants?

Explanation (Melissa): I would say the Giants but I usually go for the underdogs, meaning Rangers. I do hope the Rangers win at least one game.

Honeymoon

I am in the "honeymoon" stage of pregnancy and I love it.  I am 95% done being sick, and I can feel this sweet little unknown gender baby kicking all the time.  It is to the point where I can feel it on both sides, like a kick one one side and the baby's head hitting on the other.  The baby is still pretty small so it doesn't hurt...yet.
I am 26 weeks today and unfortunately I think the honeymoon will be coming to end sooner than with my other pregnancies.  I am starting to get a pain in my top right side that is becoming more constant (heart burn? I have never had it before.  Does that mean I should stop eating? Too bad.) At night it is starting to get more complicated getting comfortable.  I am trying to hold on to this honeymoon phase as long as possible! But little tiny baby boy/girl, you are so worth it.

Summer 2010

Summer 2010 seems like a blur. I started feeling sick mid June, just in time for summer and the heat.  I am glad I took some pictures so I can remember what actually happened, because I seem to have no recollection of the things we did. I know we swam a lot, but I don't have pictures because I never brought my camera. Besides swimming we...
washed cars (well Dave would with the kids). I love that every time Joshua squirted the hose he would open his mouth like that.  He wasn't screaming, just opening his mouth.  I think he looks like a character from Charlie Brown, although I can't remember which one.

The kids took such great care of me (ugghhh, more laundry. Clean though.)

 

 

 

Played puppet show

 

I loved watching his face when it my turn to put on a puppet show for him.  My turn lasted about 20 seconds and then it was his turn again.

 

Water colored. My kids loved doing this.

 

Went to the movies (thank you $.50 days!)

 

Went to a baseball game (thank you C & M for the tickets!) It was so fun!

 

 

We celebrated our nine year anniversary. Dave and I went to dinner and then met up with friends to see a movie.  I can't remember which one.

 

We watched some awesome rain storms (poor Dave was so frustrated with the weeds that when he went to kill them he ended up killing lots of our grass as well. Oh well)

 

Audrey turned 5

 

We made our first trip to the ER after Audrey fell off a slide at Chick-fil-A and gashed her chin open.  No stitches, just dermabond and and a cute little scar .

 

We tried one night mid-August to have a picnic outside and had fun for a few minutes until we got too hot.

 

So the kids played with the hose and got everyone all wet.  Then we were all much cooler.

 

I also hired a manny... Curious George. Thank you Man In the Yellow Hat and George for entertaining my kids for hours.  I will donate to PBS someday when we have an income. 

My sweet mother-in-law sent us money and we drove thru a new fast food place every day. This is my first pregnancy having drive-thrus (San Francisco only had one drive thru McDonalds.  Gross.)  I could only eat something one time and then never again because it made me sick, so we got creative in our food choices.  I love drive thrus!  I put the back seat down in Francy (our mini van) and we would have a "picnic" in the back of our car in the parking lot of the drive through we had just gone through.  It sounds so pathetic now, but it was all I could manage at the time.  

Now that fall is here I am really glad for the weather change.  I am also glad I took these pictures because I don't remember half of them! I have NO brain cells while pregnant.  Summer 2010, I think you were fun. Before I got pregnant I wanted to make the summer awesome because it was Audrey's last summer before she started school, and I think it turned out pretty mediocre.  I'm sure my kids had fun though. Drive thrus and Curious George...what kid doesn't love that right? Right? I am trying not to feel guilty! 

Wipeout

Our kids love watching the show Wipeout. Joshua kept saying, "me do it!" so Dave came up with a little obstacle course for them. They had to run by Dave without being knocked down by the pillows, or be eaten alive by those laundry baskets. Yikes. Looking at those baskets makes me cringe. That is how we lived life while I was so sick from being pregnant. At least the clothes were clean.

Toothless Wonder

Audrey lost her first tooth today. I feel...weird. How do I have a child old enough to lose a tooth? Where is the time going? Cliche, cliche but it is so true.
We were camping/staying in a beautiful cabin in Oklahoma with some friends and this morning we went on a little hike. All of a sudden she says, "Mom! Mom! I pulled out my tooth!" This tooth has been loose for some time (thanks to an accidental head butt from her brother while playing duck duck goose about six weeks ago), but I never would have guessed that she would pull it out herself. She could taste the blood and looked like she was going to cry and I said, "Yay! The tooth fairy gets to come to our house tonight!" All traces of tears vanished and shear excitement took over.
Little Audrey, please stop growing up. My heart is having growing pains tonight.

Saturday Morning Service Project

Dave started moonlighting on Saturdays. Yay for making money, booooo for having him gone even more. One Saturday morning, I was trying to catch a few extra minutes of sleep while the kids played in my bathroom. They asked if they could clean my makeup brushes and in my sleepy state I said yes. So glad I did.

I love this picture. It might be one of my favorites ever. I realize I desperately need to clean my mirror. But I do love the little handprints. It did not look this bad in person. Promise. It must have been the flash.

My love for cream cheese has been passed to Joshua. We will eat it on anything, or just straight from the container. Pretty sure I could eat Joshua too. Love this boy.

Celebrating 30

For my 30th birthday, my sweet friends threw me a really fun party. It was a nice way of easing into the next decade. It was a fun night and I felt very loved.

Some of my friends think I have a weak bladder, so they gave me some depends to help as I age. Very thoughtful. :)

4th of July (In October)

I love the 4th of July. It is one of my favorite holidays. This year we drove down to the coast with Mandy & Colby and Chris & Megan and all our cute kids. It was one awesome weekend full of beach going, treat eating, little sleeping, and lots of memory making.
There are lots and lots of pictures to document our weekend. It must have been something about the fresh beach air, no laundry, being with our great friends and having a husband around because I felt the best that weekend that I had in a long time. Hooray for vacations!

The first night we went swimming at the clubhouse.

 

 

The next two days were spend relaxing at the beach. Heavenly.

The weather was perfect.  There had been a hurricane the week before so we were a little nervous, but it ended up being perfect.  It wasn't too crowded, it wasn't too hot, and it only rained for about 10 minutes while we were in the ocean which was really neat.
The water was so warm! And it was shallow for a really long time so everyone had such a great time jumping the waves and pretending to be mermaids.  I was impressed with how all the girls just turned into little fish and would dive right into the waves.

Eating more food on the beach.

 

 

After a long day at the beach we would come home and let the kids watch a movie while we cooked dinner. Frozen lasagna. My kind of dinner while on vacation.
I love these kids.

 

We roasted smores one night. I am such a sucker for smores. 4th of July and smores together...a piece of heaven for me.

 

 

 

 

At night after we put the kids to bed the adults would stay up until at least 2 am playing games (mostly the Great Dalmuti), eating, doing all sorts of weird things that I can't remember now, but we laughed until we cried.

 

One night the moms were having major girl talk on the balcony and without us knowing our husbands had gone outside right under the balcony. Some really loud fireworks went off right next door and our husbands threw cold spaghetti noodles up onto the balcony all over us. We thought it was something coming from the fireworks and freaked out. It was hilarious. Just a little something I don't want to forget. And then they started spraying water on us from under the balcony and we couldn't go inside because they had locked us out. Do boys ever grow up? :)

4th of July. Of course all the kids had to match.

 

 

 

We found this awesome inlet to watch the fireworks. We could see lots of different shows going on all around us.

Driving down to the coast was pretty crazy. It was still raining from the hurricane and we had to drive through this to get there. It was worth is though!

 

No trip is complete without two stops to our favorite bbq place, Rudy's. It was a perfect way to begin and end our trip!
