Memor and Fafa Came to Visit!

Memor and Fafa came to visit for Audrey's birthday. We always love having them come! We are rotating between a "family birthday" and "friends birthday" every other year.  This was her family year, and I am so grateful Memor and Fafa came to share it with us!
We packed our days with lots of fun, starting with ice cream, of course.

Amusement park.

Audrey's birthday.  She had the whole day planned.  Water park in the morning, Taco Bueno for lunch, pedicures, Hungarian Goolash for dinner, cake and ice cream, presents, and then off to Dave and Busters arcade.

Pedicures.

Jack pot.

More fun.

Swimming and fireworks to celebrate the end of summer.

We miss you!

Back to School Date

August 4, 2012
Getting ready to start second grade.  Of course it requires a major mother/daughter date.  I justify this because I only have one daughter.  Much different than the dates I grew up with due to the large number of girls in my family.

Happy Birthday to Our Little Family

11 years ago (as of Aug 2, 2012), Dave and I were married and changed the eternities. We started our little family, and 11 years later, I am so grateful to have these littles to share my life with.
We celebrated by going out to dinner (can't remember where) and getting cupcakes to celebrate our family's birthday.  Happy day to us!
Then sticking with tradiditon we watched our wedding video.  I laughed out loud a few times...

So did Austin.

Our kids thought we were famous and Joshua still asks to watch the "Mommy and Daddy movie".

It's been a great 11 years.  Hopefully we will not move nine times and have three children in the next 11 years. Oh, and have Dave go to school for a majority of those years. We will leave the school going to our kids from now on.

I'm Afraid of the Future

August 2, 2012
Audrey and her friend went to some car driving place and the mom texted me this picture.  It gave me an instant feeling of dread thinking about my sweet little seven year old Audrey, who will one day be 16.  Driving in a car, with the windows down, blasting music and most likely muttering something about how her Mom is so uncool and how she doesn't understand anything (that's me she will be talking about).  Wasn't I doing that just yesterday? Sorry Mom.

Summer Olympics

I love, love, love the Summer Olypmics. My favorites are womens gymastics and swimming.  Although now that Michael Phelps claims he is retiring, I don't know if swimming will be as much fun to watch. It was crazy to think that the last Summer Olympics we were living in our tiny San Francisco apartment with a little baby Joshua, reading Breaking Dawn.
This time around I must have been too tired to even read.  Pretty sure I just folded laundry, or sat on my rear eating bon bons.
Gabby was fabulous!

Goodbye M.P.  May all your gold medals sparkle forever.

July's Instagrams

My brother in law just posted this on fb.  The title was "nap time".  I love how her hand is resting on the babes even when she is asleep.  I had no doubt she would make an excellent mother. This picture brought happy tears to my eyes.

Rrrrrrrrrroad trip!

Such a great little getaway trip! Good food, great company, perfect weekend!

Roasting s'mores for dessert.  Great ending to such a fun trip! I am so grateful for such great friends.

Watched this show on the Discovery Channel.  Soooooo, now I believe in mermaids! Makes me creeped out to go scuba diving again!

Date night.  (Dave and I got invited to attend a fashion show. So fun!)

My girl and her baby blues.  No filter on this one.

Joshua showing Dave how much he grew up in his sleep last night.

The gym and then donuts.  That's how we roll.

Family night.

A flower from my hubby. These are the flowers they give to their patients. I was lucky enough to get one without having a root canal.

My new awesome pool life.  Did I mention it was awesome? All three kids can be in the water by themselves and I can get it if and when I want. #perksofgoingtothepooldaily #firsthashtag #dididoitright?

My very first tomato from my very first garden.  Heavenly.
(I only grew basil and tomatoes.  And it is now October 22 and I have maybe eaten 8 tomatoes from my plant.  It just doesn't want to grow.)

Califoria Bound to Meet the Babes

Oh boy, oh boy!
Rachel and Ryan were blessing their twin boys end of July and of course I had to be there.  I could not wait to snuggle these babes.

After a morning of snuggling, Jess and I went for a little bike ride.  My family is turning into biking fanatics (my parents just finished their seventh 100 mile ride, and my sister has done two), so I wanted to see what the hype was all about.  Loved it.
Friday night, Sara, Mimi and I went into San Francisco for a girls night.  So, so, so fun.

We took BART into the city, not wanting to fight Friday night traffic.  Such old ladies.

Saturday morning, we did the two things my family does best.
1) Walk
I have many memories of going for Sunday walks when I was growing up

The original six.  Back when the girls outnumbered the boys.  Now with the two granddaughter and six grandsons, the boys prevail!
My parents walking with three of their grandbabes.  And Savy trying to get Grande's attention.  Or flirting with baby Ty.  Probably both.

The other thing my family does really well? Eat. Diane is one amazing picnic planner.

I loved looking in the backyard and seeing our handprints from when we were little and the house was being built.  I was in 4th grade.

Sunday morning was the blessing and it was beautiful.  My Dad and Rick (my sister's husband's father) went to dental school together and our families have been friends ever since.  Then my sister married their son, blending the families.

Doubly blessed.

It was a great weekend and I can not wait to see those babes again!
