We had an incredible 11 day trip to CA in August. I got some of the pictures in my IG post, but I had to document these moments as well.
We flew in and stayed the night at my parents and then headed to Dave's family. Grande and Austie Boy in Betsy, Grande's w1944 Pontiac. Three on a tree baby. And once upon a time in high school, I knew how to drive it.
Family pictures.
Fun day celebrating Memor's 65th birthday.
Trip to Monterey.
Dave and I were training for a half marathon and we ran together for the very first time of our married life. It was fun, and we ended our run at the park where Dave played basketball as a kid. Then he got to play here with his kids.
To celebrate our anniversary, Dave and I went into San Francisco and were able to see all the places we lived during our six years there.
This apartment complex used to be baby pink. We served Andrew's group for prom (6-8 people, I can't remember) dinner on this rooftop at sunset. It has an incredible view of the Golden Gate view. My mom and I cooked chicken parmesan in the kitchen and Dave and my Dad would run it up to the rooftop. My sweet friend Merrily who is a professional photographer took their pictures. Dave would catch the 30 bus line right on the corner to the left in this picture to get to work everyday. So many fun memories here.
This was the apartment complex we managed for 3.5 years. We brought Audrey home from the hospital here. It was so much work managing it and cleaning the building, but it allowed us to go to dental school and not have to pay rent, so we will be forever grateful for this job.
Our third place where we lived for 1.5 years. I was able to see Jamie's apartment from my kitchen window, and Linden's from my family room window. This is where we brought Joshua home from the hospital. We found out Dave got into speciality school here. We packed up and moved away from San Francisco from this little place. I loved it here so much. It was so close to Baker Beach that if the window was open, you could hear the waves and smell the salt water. Sand would end up on the floor from being blown up. Jamie, Linden, Megan and I would walk every morning down to the beach, and around through the Presidio for an exercise walk. Sigh. So many happy things happened here.
The park in the middle of the complex. "Audrey's Park" is what we called it. The husbands had night clinic on Monday and Thursday nights so we would pack a picnic dinner and come eat it at the park with all our friends. I remember walking to this park when Joshua was only five days old. A friend could always be found at this park. And there are no swings, hallelujah. I can't stand swings at a park.
Our favorite Thai restaurant. I had no idea when I lived there that someday I would go to Thailand. And it was closed down. Wah wah.
We came back up to my family's and went to see January. There are so few pictures of all five of us, that I had to post this one. We were practicing singing for Audrey's baptism. Per Audrey's request, the five of us sang the first verse of "When I am Baptized" (I like to look for rainbows...I think that is what that song is called), and then Audrey sang the second verse by herself.
Two nights before the big day we took a girls run out to see the place where the party was going to be. Audrey was so excited that she got to come with the big girls.
My kids loved entertaining the twins while they ate breakfast.
Making marshmellow shooters with Uncle Ben.
Family pictures. Fun, fun, trip!
The girls, from my phone.
