Our summer consisted mostly of swimming. The kids loved it, I loved it, and I especially loved that by the end of the summer, all three could be in the pool with out me. Holla!
We did two rounds of swimming lessons for Audrey and Joshua, to hone their skills. At the beginning of the summer, Joshua didn't want his face in the water, and by the end he was swimming without his floaty the entire length of the pool. I only had to jump in once (fully clothed) to rescue the tired boy.
We avoided the green hair situation with Audrey the best we could and seemed to escape the tint of green until the last few weeks. Not bad considering we swam almost every day, sometimes twice a day. Props to myself, and lots of chlorine shampoo.
Austin did a Mom and Me swim lesson at the beginning of the summer. Wasn't so sure about putting his face in the water. At the end, he would jump of the side of the pool with his floaty on, kick his little legs until he got to the steps, and then do it again. One day at the pool, he was doing this, and a whole group of adults were watching and were very impressed. One lady even told me she would bet money that he would go to the Olympics. The next Michael Phelps?
We swam, we ate ice cream and popsicles, we went to the splash park, we had swim lessons, it was the all American summer.
And it was a good one.

Austin entertaining the crowd.
He loved putting his face in the water. And drinking the water. I changed lots of gross diapers, because funny enough, his digestive system doesn't like chlorinated water.
My little fish, and proof that I exist.

Not only was it the summer of swim, but it was the summer of sleep. All that swimming must have worn Austin out, because most days he slept until past 8, sometimes until 9!!! If Audrey and Joshua slept past 7:01, I was sure something was wrong. Thank you Austin, for being my first and only baby to ever sleep in.
